Our Anchor - Screen-print
Our Anchor is an original single colour screen-print, printed by Kethi in her London studio.
In 2013 the anchor that had stood at the end of Deptford high street for 25 years disappeared. Hauled away as part of the high street’s regeneration, locals were left in the dark as to when or if it would return. Deptford used to be the home of an important royal dockyard for building and repairing war ships and the anchor gave a nod to its past as well as being a local landmark. Locals were inspired to act, using petitions and people power to rally behind the symbol of the anchor and asking for its return. It took 5 years, but the anchor which served as a symbol of local identity was welcomed back in early 2018.
The unframed print is A5 (21cm x 14.8) fitting standard mounts and frames.
Each print is wrapped carefully and sent flat with a backing board and artist statement.
"I have followed Kethi’s work for many years now and absolutely love it! From the Barcelona rooftops to the Amsterdam canals her art reminds me places and faces I’ve met during my student years. One of the prints made a great present for former classmates and friends ❤️ My last print purchase “Our Anchor" included a small card with the history behind it which was a nice touch. The prints are amazing and have a special place in our wall. Shipping was fast and the prints were carefully packed. No doubt will keep coming back!"
