Animal City Pelican Crossing - print
Pelican Crossing
A colourful and intriguing print featuring animals in un-expected places.
Story
My artwork was inspired by a poem by Dave Oliver that encourages children to look around the city and discover creatures using their imagination. There are three prints in the series, with each illustrating a different rhyming couplet from the Animal City poem.
'Have you seen a pelican crossing the street? Or a zebra crossing, now that’s hard to beat.'
This print could brighten up any wall in the house but is especially perfect for kids bedrooms, inquisitive eyes will spot the animals and make connections with the poem and their own surroundings.
Un-framed
Digital photographic print on gloss paper (FSC) in an open edition signed by the Artist. Prints are sold un-framed and sent with Backing board and sealed in a plastic sleeve.
Creative Process
The original artwork for this print was built up in three dimensions using collaged elements; card, fabric, photocopies, pegs and pins on a background of brown paper and then photographed in the studio to capture all the textures and shadows.
